The Seven Roberts Brothers who fought in the Civil War
My Great Grandfather was Stephen Wyatt Roberts. His brothers were Benjamin,
Nathan, John, Sylvester, Mills and Francis. They all fought in the Confederate
Army and were all wounded. Stephen served with the NC 11th Regiment
(the Bethel Regiment) and was a 1st. Lt at the end of the war. The other
brothers were all with the VA 16th Regiment. The are all buried in the family cemetery in Windsor except for my Great Grandfather.
I was told that Stephen Wyatt's grave is about five miles south
or east of middle of town (Windsor) on the north side of the highway. I am
guessing the highway is 460. My Mother said her Grandfather (my Great Grandfather, Stephen Wyatt Roberts) owned a saw mill at or near Lake Prince. My Uncle told me Mr. Roberts once
onwed most of the lake.
