Historical and other Information about Bainbridge Island
The community of Bainbridge Island is fairly new, created in 1991. Before that time, the island had a city, Winslow. It was in 1991 that the people of Bainbridge Island voted to make their entire island the city of Bainbridge Island. The city is about 3.5 miles wide and 10 miles long. It includes about 28 square miles. It has a total coastline of approximately 45 miles. Bainbridge Island is one of the largest islands in Puget Sound.
