Cosmopolis average annual rainfall is 84 inches per year History & History Related Items Cosmopolis history: The name Cosmopolis means "city of the world." It is next to the city of Aberdeen. The founding fathers of Cosmopolis are David Byles, Austin Young, James and Henry Karr and Ed campbell. They began the area's first industry, a brickyard, in Cosmopolis. The site was platted in the early 1860s. It was later incorporated in 1891. The first mayor was George Stetson, who was also the general manager of the Grays Harbor mill.
