Anawalt was named Jeanette prior to being changed to Anawalt. After being named Anawalt there was a Bank called Anawalt Bank. It was closed and was turned into a beautiful home, which is still occupied in 2002. At one time there was an A&P grocery store, a dollar store, a liquor store, a movie theater, a barber shop and a Post Office. John Santy owned the theater. Mr Martin owned the Dollar Store. E.C.
