History & History Related Items Weston history: Weston was originally established in 1818 as Preston. The name was changed to Flesherville in 1819, and to Weston later in the same year. The origin of latter name is unknown. The County seat was first established as Westfield (unicorporated), five miles north of Weston. Weston was incorporated in 1913 by an Act of the Legislature. General "Stonewall Jackson Slept here" He spent much of his youth here in Lewis County.
