Chamber of Commerce.
Silver is what brought the people to Globe, but it was copper that kept them there. Many of the mines are still in operation today. The "Old Dominion" is one of those that has been closed that was very famous in its day. Founded in 1876, Globe started out and remains a mining town. Along with Miami to the west, the area is known for a rich western heritage. Buildings here are unique in their craftsman style.

Owen McKevitt and Thomas McKevitt
Buried at a cemetery somewhere in Globe, Arizona is Owen McKevitt and his son, Thomas McKevitt. See my site, www.mckevittfamily.com for complete details, including a poem written in 1873 by Owen ... one of a collection. A positively beautiful poem. The town mentioned is Carlingford, County Lout, Ireland, a medievaltown of about 500 citizens.
My offer: I'll pay $ 50 for a good photo of the headstones.
