Lake Havasu is 46 miles long with a maximum width of 3 miles. The waters come from the Colorado River and are held back by Parker Dam. The town's founder, Robert P. McCullock, Sr. bought the "London Bridge" for 2.5 million in 1968, and had it moved from London to Lake Havasu City and erected again here brick by brick. The bridge was originally built in 1824-1831. It went across the Thames River in London until 1968. The rededication of the bridge occurred on October 10, 1971.
