Ground-breaking for Sun City took place in 1958 by developer, Del Webb. He envisioned a community especially for those over 55 where they could enjoy life in near perfect weather all year. Sun City was recognized for these things and more. It became extremely successful and was also a model for many other "retirement" communities around the country. Other communities, Sun City West and Sun City Grand have been developed near Sun City. Together, they are referred to as the "Sun Cities."

Senior Living
To live in Sun City, at least one member in the residence must be 55 years or older. Other residents in the home must be 19 years or older. Even though children can't live in Sun City, they are always welcome as visitors. There are even activities planned for the visiting children.
If golf is what you like, there are over 17 USGA rated golf courses in the Sun City area!
