Del Monte Forest is known as such by the US Census, but locally as Pebble Beach. The community is actually a corporation - the Pebble Beach Corporation - that is governed as a small town. Rather than property taxes, residents pay homeowners' fees. The post office here is known as Pebble Beach.
Here is a page with some history of the corporation and area.

Attractions
The community is known for its many golf courses, among them Spyglass Hill, Poppy Hills, Spanish Bay and the Pebble Beach Golf Links. Many well-known tournaments have been held here. The community itself is a quiet, secluded place with few businesses and no sidewalks. Most homes are in treed areas. The area tends to be quite foggy due to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean.
