In January the average daytime temp is 45.0 and in July, it is 86.5 History & History Related Items Dinuba history: Dinuba was first named Sibleyville for engineer, James Sibley. As with many of the small towns started during this era of the late 1800's, Sibleyville was built around a railroad depot of the Southern Pacific Railroad. Sibley and W.D. Tuxbury, both large landowners of the area, deeded over 240 acres for the new town. Trains began to run on 27 February 1888. When the new name of Sibleyville was to be recorded, an employee of the railroad recorded the name as Dinuba and so it came to be named.
