1998, June
Lydia Pena graduated from her Orosi High School class as Valedictorian in 1997.
1934-1935
Orosi had a one-room school house. Mrs. Perkins, the teacher, daily transported Jim Vallely, her youngest student, from his home on the frog farm to the school.
1916
Orosi High School builds its first permanent building.
1912
The present Orosi High School site was purchased, and the first class of OHS graduates - 2 students.
1909, January 26
Orosi High School was organized.

The Orosi Library Society was established

first bank building was completed in June. It was located on the northeast corner of
Palm Ave. (now Rd. 128) and El Monte Way and is still operational today.
1892
A.J. Bump planted a large acreage to raisin grapes and the first orange trees in the area.

The Long Valley School was established.

The first grammar school was built in town, a 2 story wood building.

The St. James Presbyterian Church was organized

Dan Shafer builds the first store in Orosi.
1888
In 1888 the Orosi town site was surveyed. According to a newspaper clipping of the time: "One hundred town lots were sold in the new town of Orosi on the opening day, Saturday, April 14, 1888. The company which had charge of the town and colonies adjoining it, was given the name of Smith Mountain Development Company".
1800-1801
The first term of school was held in 1800-1801 in an old sheepherder's cabin.
