HARBOR CRUISE
The Spirit of San Diego was our Harbor Cruise Ship We signed on for the two hour cruise - January 2012

The seals are sunbathing and relaxing in the harbor while the SEAL Tour travels slowly by. This unique tour goes on both land and sea in the amphibious vehicles. The tours are 1 1/2 hours long and are completely narrated. The tours leave from Seaport Village and at the Star of India at the Maritime Museum. You can enjoy the tour safely and comfortably while seeing all the sights of San Diego Harbor and nearby areas. - January 2012

This area is restricted by the U.S. Navy. There is a submarine yard, dry dock and repair facilties here. The area is fenced off and patrolled - as seen in the picture below. There is also a sea lion and dolphin training area in this part of the harbor. These animals are used in the military for a variety of tasks and are partially trained here in San Diego.	January 2012

North Island Naval Air Station. Located on the north end of the Coronado peninsula on the bay The concrete piers are left over from WWII when the ships would dock here It is home to several aircraft carriers of the Navy.
