Due to our "just passing through" location (you have to pass through Gulf Breeze in order to get from mainland Pensacola to Pensacola Beach), our police department keeps an agile eye on the traffic situation and often stop vehicles that speed through our town. This is necessary due to the heavy Pensacola Beach traffic, particularly during the summer months. Pensacola and Pensacola Beach are located in Escambia county. The portion of Escambia county where Pensacola Beach is located is completely unattached to the remaining part of Escambia county.
