One of the original landowners here, David Welch, sold the northern end of his property to Charles Redington in the early 1930's. By 1935, he had built a home in the area. Three cities have come from the property purchased by Redington - Redington Beach (incorporated 1935), North Redington (incorporated 1953) and Redington Shores (incorporated 1956).
