Kansas State Flag

The Kansas State Flag was adopted in 1927 with a sunflower atop the state seal on a blue background. Directly beneath the sunflower is a blue and gold bar signifying Kansas as part of the Louisiana Purchase. The word, "Kansas," was added to the flag in 1961.
