Hazard attractions: Get the Hazard, Kentucky and Perry County News daily on the internet. Hazard's home-owned newspaper United States Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol Jim Brewer Composite Squadron located at the Wendell Ford Airport. The Mother Goose House This is a unique round stone building, with a large goose on top of it. The building looks like a goose sitting on a nest. It was built by George Stacy and completed in 1940 and features oval windows. It was first used as a house. A grocery store was added later and then used as an apartment. NOTED NOTABLES Don McGuire Hazard, Kentucky is the home town of Don McGuire. Don McGuire was part of the singing group The Hilltoppers whose song "P. S. I Love You" was the most popular song in the US for the year 1952, based on Hit Parade ratings.
