Every year, the 3rd weekend in August, the Delcambre Shrimp Festival is held. The Festival consists of fairgrounds with carnival rides, foods consisting of boiled...fried shrimp also sauces prepared by local townspeople. There is a blessing of the fleet parade in which a priest will bless each boat in the parade to have a plentiful season of shrimp. There are also waterfights between local firefighters and beauty pageants.
