Davidson history:

Davidson was founded in 1837 when the Presbyterian Davidson College was established. It was named for Brigadier General William Lee Davidson, an officer from the American Revolutionary War. Most of the land for the college was from his estate and was donated by his son.

Lake Norman State Park
Lake Norman is 34 miles long with 520 miles of shoreline. It was created in 1963 by Duke Power. Other communities around the lake are Cornelius and Huntersville.
