Information & Facts about Humboldt County, Nevada
Location: Humboldt County is located in the high desert region of north-central Nevada. Humboldt County is surrounded by the following Counties: Harney and Malheur in Oregon, Washoe, Elko, Pershing, and Lander.
Size: The county has 9,626 square miles with many recreational opportunities in the area. The topography is quite diverse and especially scenic.
Economy: The main industries in Humboldt County are mining, agriculture and its services, tourism and construction. It is a prominent area for gold mining in the Western USA. It has over 100,000 acres under cultivation for agriculture. The gaming industry brings many tourists to the area. Also big drawing cards for the county are the wide open spaces and beautiful vistas. Hunting and fishing abound throughout the county. There are quite a few historical sites to be seen.
