Geary history:

Geary was founded in 1892 and was an old town of historic Route 66. The town was bypassed when the highway was re-aligned in 1933. A portion of the old dirt road may still be seen just southwest of the town. The founder of the Chisholm Trail, Jesse Chisholm, is buried near here.
