Lexington County has 700.8 sq. miles of land area.
Lexington County is governed by a council/ administrator form
of government.
The Lexington Council consists of nine members elected by districts.

Lexington County has a population of 167,711
Lexington County was founded in 1785 by German settlers. It was
first known as Saxe Gotha. After independence, the settlers wanted
to honor their freedom and re-named it Lexington for the first
battle of the Revolutionary War.
