The county seat for Marlboro County is Bennettsville

Marlboro is surrounded by the following counties: Chesterfield, Darlington and Dillon

Marlboro County is located in east-central South Carolina and is part of the state's Pee Dee Region which consists of Marlboro and six other counties: Williamsburg, Dillon, Florence, Marion, Lee, and Darlington.

Marlboro County has been known as a "land of farms." The rich agricultural area has always been successful. It has been said that land there once sold by the pound instead of by the acre!

Several large murals of history in Marlboro County by artist, Tom Goforth, depict life of earlier days in both Clio and in Bennettsville.

The Blenheim Mineral Spring was known by many for its great "medicinal" powers. Its waters were even commercially bottled by Dr. C.R. May of Bennettsville in 1903.
