The county seat for Williamsburg County is Kingstree

Williamsburg is surrounded by the following counties: Florence, Georgetown, Berkeley, and Clarendon.

Williamsburg County is located in east-central South Carolina and is at the southern tip of the state's Pee Dee Region which consists of Williamsburg and six other counties: Marlboro, Dillon, Florence, Marion, Lee, and Darlington.

Settlers first came to the county in the Kingstree area in 1732.
