History:
Another history page for Weber County. Here is third Weber County history page.
There is more than one explanation for the naming of the county as Weber. One is that it was named for John H. Weber, who was a trapper who came here in 1825. He was killed by Indians not long after. The second version is the naming was for Pauline Weaver, also a trapper. The river here is named "Weaver's Fork" by some early writers.

Climate & Weather:
Winter: Weather in the area includes all four seasons. The severity
of the winter is lessened greatly as storms from the west pass
over the deserts and the Great Salt Lake. The moisture is drawn
out of the clouds which leaves only the wonderfully "dry"
precipitation, creating what is known as "The Greatest Snow
on Earth" - the fine dry powder snow which accumulates in
the mountain areas. The temperatures are normally in the upper
30s with lows in the 20 degree range.
Spring: In the Spring, the snows melt and runoff fills the rivers
and streams flowing into the Great Salt Lake. Spring is an awakening
time with flowers and green everywhere. The temperatures are just
right with cool evenings. Spring usually arrives in April or May.
Summer: Summer is enjoyable as recreation abounds. Temperatures range from the low 90's to the 60's for lows. There is little humidity in the area, making the temperatures very comfortable.
Fall: Another beautiful season for the Weber County area is fall with its annual display of autumn colors. Arriving in September and early October, the temperatures reach the mid-60's most days.
Rainfall: 17.92
Average summer high: 93.2
