Weather

History & History Related Items
Wildomar was established in 1886 when a post office and school were built. The name was created from three town founders: WIL from William Collier, DO from Donald Graham and MAR from Margaret Collier. Early on, Wildomar was an outpost for the pony express and also, in the early 1900's, a stop for the Southern California Railroad. After the tracks were washed out, growth in the area slowed down greatly helping it to revert to more of a farming and ranching area. When the I-15 interstate was built, the area once again boomed, but this time, the urban and rural grew side by side.

2008, Feb 5An election was held on 5 Feb 2008 to entertain the incorporation of Wildomar as a city. Measure C, as it was known, passed with a 3-2 margin. The Incorporation took effect on 1 July 2008.
