1906-1916
The Blue Ridge Marble Company operated in Nelson, Ga. in 1906 when it won the U. S. contract to furnish headstones and monuments for Confederate dead who died at Northern prison camps during the late war. It shipped at least 10,000 headstones and 15 monuments to various prison cemteries, such as Elmira, NY, between 1907 and 1916.
