The success of the camp continued with ups and downs through a number of years. A town plan was drawn up in 1897 with roads, walkways and other amenities, but was never fully implemented. For a time in the 1930's some wanted to annex to Gaithersburg, but nothing came of it. In 1937 the Camp Meeting Association was ended and the Town of Washington Grove was incorporated.
