History & History Related Items
Early on this area was known as Campstone Station. Then it became Sunset City. The Southern Pacific Railraod stopped here between Tombstone and Patagonia but later ceased the line. When Fort Huachuca reopened in 1954, this area, at the north gate of the fort, became known as Huachuca Vista. There were only a few trailers and a small store. In 1958, it was incorporated with the name, Huachuca City.

Fort Huachuca Museum
This museum not only tells about Huachuca City, but you may learn much about the Fort which originally opened here in 1877 as a cavalry post for the protection of the early settlers. Military memorabilia may also see seen here.
