The climate for Palos Verdes Estates is coastal with stable temperatures year-round. Winter temperatures tend to average in the upper 50's with summer temperatures averaging in the low 70's. Precipitation generally falls only in the winter and late fall months. History & History Related Items Palos Verdes Estates history: Incorporated in 1939, Palos Verdes Estates is the oldest residential community on the peninsula. There are 849 acres dedicated as parkland which helps give it the reputation as a "garden suburb." The Palos Verdes Homes Association helps maintain the community standards. Only a limited number of home sites remain in the community. Its founding father is considered to be Frank Vanderlip, one of a group of investors who purchased the 16,000 acres of peninsula land in 1913.
