History & History Related Items Atlantis history: Atlantis was known as Mulberry Farms when it was developed by former State Senator Philip D. Lewis. He wanted to raise Brahman cattle on the 834 acre site. 828 acres, of the property, used as a ranch, were sold to Nathan Hunt and Paul Kintz in 1958. The other two parcels, also owned by Hunt and Kintz, were then developed into what would become Atlantis. Atlantix was granted a city charter in 1959. Here is a history page for Atlantis.
