Bryans Road was named for Oliver Norris Bryan, a farmer and scientist who owned Locust Grove Farm near Marshall Hall, Maryland. By 1920 the name of Bryans Road began to appear on maps and by 1960 it was home to many who commuted to Washington, D.C. and other nearby business areas.
