History & History Related Items Boynton Beach history: Nathan S. Boynton, from Port Huron, Michigan, arrived here with a small group of settlers in 1894, after being impressed on a previous visit to the area. The community divided in 1931 into Boynton and Boynton Beach. after Boynton Beach changed its name to Ocean Ridge in 1939, Boynton decided to change its name to Boynton Beach in 1941.
