History & History Related Items Ocean Ridge history: Ocean Ridge was founded in 1931 by 13 families after secession from Boynton Beach. The Hubel family arrived here from Michigan in 1877. By 1885, new settlers were arriving in large numbers. The community was made up of what is now Boynton Beach, Ocean Ridge and Briny Breezes. In 1931, Boynton and Boynton Beach separated. In 1939, Boynton beach changed its name to Ocean Ridge. Then in 1941, Boynton changed its name to Boynton Beach. Here is a history page for Ocean Ridge.
