History & History-related items
Lynndyl began as a railroad town with the first railroad terminal south of Salt Lake City. By 1911, new settlers came to farm and the little town was called Lynn. The post office later changed the name to Lynndyl, probably due to another Lynn in the state. The main line of the Union Pacific Railroad from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles runs through the edge of town.
Here is a history page for Lynndyl.
